Rider registration is now closed!
We have a record number of participating riders this year. Thanks to all of you who have bravely signed up for the 2014 Powderhorn 24. We are looking so forward to sharing this amazing event with you again.
Powderhorn 24 is not just about the ride.
Riding laps and participating at the bonus checkpoints are only part of the event. Powderhorn 24 is a celebration of the Powderhorn Park neighborhood and the larger community that surrounds it. The participation of neighborhood businesses and community sponsors of the bonus checkpoints help illuminate some of the wonderful features this part of Minneapolis has to offer. Each year more and more members of the community have come out to see what all the fun is about, and have jumped in to participate with cheers and treats and helping to monitor intersections. We look forward to making even more new friends this year.
Volunteering at Powderhorn 24 is almost as fun as riding it.
Riders. Community. And last, but not least, Volunteers. Powderhorn 24 was started by a small group of Powderhorn area residents who wanted to celebrate their community with an activity they love dearly - riding bicycles. From its inception, Powderhorn 24 has been organized and staffed solely by volunteers. Planning and preparing for the ride takes months, but the 24 hours of the event uses a lot more help. Almost every riding team is required to contribute volunteers to help us, but we need help from community members, friends, family, and anyone who would just like to see what the event is all about.
Head on over to the “Rules” page to learn the details of Powderhorn 24. Our goal is to have the entire community be involved through riding, volunteering, or cheering on their neighbors! See here for information on how to volunteer.
We give our eternal thanks to and have great admiration for the organizers of Riverwest 24 in Milwaukee who have inspired and supported us in organizing an event similar to theirs. Learn about the Riverwest 24 Hour Bicycle Ride here
